Hello 2015!

Happy new years everybody!

Can't believe that another year has come and gone in just a blink of an eye. 2014 was a year where I graduated from my Masters of Architecture, embarked on a 6 month adventure to Europe and made some life long friends from Croatia, Poland, Portugal, Singapore and the Dominican Republic. It was also the year I decided to finally get my blog lichipan up and running & hit my goal of 25 000 followers on Instagram (THANK YOU!). 2014 was also the year I lost my dear grampa. It was the year where I put my relationship through some serious strain by going to Europe and where I experienced losing someone I wanted to meet for the longest time but never got the chance to as he left the world a little too soon...

I can only hope that the best moments of 2015 will outweigh the bad this year. Whatever negative vibes that happened in 2014 leave it in 2014. Don't drag it into the new year - surround yourself with people who make you genuinely happy. People who make you laugh and build you up. People who help you when you're in need. Life's too short to let miserable people bring you down - ain't nobody got time fo that! To positive waves and an incredible 2015 :)!

Lots of love,

Sunday Musings.

Last submission due on Wednesday. It's going slowly. VERY. SLOWLY. Hence this procrastination post. I've never been good with long-winded philosophical essays but I somehow manage to get it done (how -I don't even know...) Best of luck to uni students who begin writing from tomorrow. Try not to stress it out! It's not worth accumulating grey hair from unnecessary pressure you put on yourself. Take it easy and remember to be kind to your body. I always end up neglecting myself when an assignment or exam is around the corner. I run on multiple cans of Red Bull, V and coffee and survive on an hour or two of sleep. I usually end up in the 'crash phase' which entails falling sick and looking extremely sleep deprived followed by a series of 'you look so tired' comments from my peers. Remember hydrate yourself and get enough sleep! Your body will thank you for it. TRUST ME.

I'm also a little relieved knowing that five years of studying is finally drawing to an end. It's been an emotionally and physically taxing course - Architecture isn't for the faint hearted! Wanted to share some exciting news with you all.
I was invited by Hypetap to join their company today (A brand agency who gets influential people on social media to build hype around different companies through collaborations). A really exciting offer - but still deciding whether I want a career in the styling/blogging/advertising industry or  whether to go into Architecture. I love both but it's quite stressful managing both at the moment.

Incredibly grateful for all the wonderful opportunities that have taken place over the last year! Let's hope that this streak of positive vibes continues! Have a good week ahead everybody!

Double Date.

Ordered the Banoffee Waffle with ice cream ($9) and a Strawberry Tart ($8) with a pink lemonade to go! Tart was good but the waffle was the winner for me!

In the midst of my finals - I decided to visit the Grounds of Alexandria with my darling Amelia and her boyfriend, Theo (it's been a while since we last visited). I'm not a major fan of the long queues at the Potting Shed - So I usually opt for the various market stalls which have been set up. Super fast and only about a ten minute wait for food (winning).

Palais de Tokyo

After having read about Henrique Oliveira's exhibition I spent a good amount of time trying to convince my friend to come with me to the Palais de Tokyo. The lady at the reception was kind enough to let us in free of charge (winning!) - showed her our student cards as well as my architect student pass (In Paris you can get in free of charge if you have a EU student card!! ) and managed to enjoy the entire exhibition in just under an hour!

Simple Crêpes Recipe

A close up of my homemade crêpes!

Thought i'd share a quick and simple fool proof recipe of my homemade crêpes with you all! Or as my German flatmate calls them.. 'pfannkuchen' which literally translates as pancake. Since arriving in Stuttgart i've become completely domesticated because everything is closed on a Sunday - which means more time to myself. So i've been getting my hands a bit dirty in the kitchen. It takes about 35 minutes to make these bad boys. So give it a try!

    Ingredients:
-1 cup all-purpose flour

-2 tablespoon sugar
-1/4 teaspoon of coarse salt
-1.5 cups of low fat milk
-4 eggs
-2 tablespoon of melted butter

Directions:
Mix the flour, sugar, milk, eggs and butter. Stir until the batter is smooth and has a few bubbles. Refrigerate mixture in a container for 3 hours or leave overnight.  Heat a pan over a medium heat and coat with some butter. Add 1/3 cup batter and swirl around the pan. Cook until the crepe is golden in texture for 2 minutes. Loosen the edge of the crepe and flip the crepe over for another 2 minutes. Slide the crepe out of the pan and repeat with the remainder of the batter. Serve with whipped cream, strawberry jam, fresh fruit, Nutella or whatever fancies your delight! This little treat always manages to brighten up my day.

A Winter Wonderland.

This post is long overdue - however I've been busy settling down into my new life in Stuttgart! It's been a massive change for me as I discovered that all my classes are taught in German - but that's a story for another day - So my apologies! We decided collectively as a group of friends to rent two cars to explore the much famed Neuschwanstein Castle - a 19th century Romanesque Revival palace perched atop a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. It is very rare that you will have to travel more than a few hours before you can immerse yourself in a new culture and dive into a different world.

The dreamy view of  Neuschwanstein Castle from Marien Brucke.

En-route to Neuschwanstein Castle I was also able to experience what it was like to be a seated passenger in the speeding car on the German Autobahn. Scary does not even begin to describe it. The Autobahn is perhaps the ultimate dream for anyone who has a love for speed and most of the world's serious drivers have heard of it and longed to have a shot at driving on this freeway with no speed limit.

I always get teased by these very three boys that I take too many photographs - meanwhile...
My amazing friend Haren - who always manages to capture the little moments.

After visiting the Castle we drove to Lake Constance on the Rhine at the northern foot of the Alps. We quickly hurried back to the car after a few snapshots of the picturesque scenery to return the car! It was truly amazing being in a three-country-zone. Germany to the east, Switzerland to the west and Austria at the South. The view of the Swiss Alps from the German side was really such a pleasant experience. Can't wait to blog about more roadtrips in Europe. This is definitely not the last!

Hope you all had a relaxing Easter weekend! On a side note i'd like to say a little thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read my first post! I've been wanting to start up a personal blog in what feels like forever! I am so grateful to have friends and followers on Instagram who've been so encouraging and supportive of this idea. I will try my best to update this page as often as I can. Stay tuned for more posts and do let me know your thoughts on the layout. I'm always open to change.
