Waffle Feasting.

Happy hump day guys!

Choc Pot has always been my go-to-place for desserts. I honestly can't fault the place! I reckon these monstrous chocolate plates of sugar are made to be shared - but you know... Treat yoself. Whenever I eat here it feels like ten cheats day in one I swear! Haha! We ordered all the home-made waffles on the menu as well as their dessert of the month: honeycrumb waffnut - which consists of two stacked honey-cinnamon waffnuts with a waffle cone top hat smothered in biscuit crumbs and caramel ice-cream.  Decadent to say the very least! ;)

People often ask me how I take my images so I decided to include a dorky-behind-the-scene snap of myself standing on the chair looking not-so-elegant, but you know. You asked. So here you go. Big shout out to my girls for such a memorable weekend! xxx

Dining with VOSS Water at Tokonoma

After hearing much about the acclaimed sister restaurant of Toko in Surry Hills, I thought it was only fitting that I pay tribute to this hidden gem located below The Bridge Room. The subtle lighting of Tokonoma has an inviting ambience, and is the perfect spot to catch up with friends and family - or a romantic night with a special someone. Its rustic sandstone walls and concrete floors make for a perfect environment to wine and dine in.

The dishes were done impeccably well and have me reminiscing about my visit. Above are a few of the dishes I managed to try and I would highly recommend including the honey bug nigiri, sashimi omakase as well as the black cod on hoba leaf. The miso sauce and salmon had the most delicate texture and literally melted in my mouth almost immediately. The glaze had the right balance of sweet and salty to it and I savoured every bite.

The chef recommended the chocolate fondant for dessert and it was definitely one of the most delicious, rich chocolate fondants I have ever tasted! The service matched the quality of food, making it a memorable experience. It’s great to finally welcome this contemporary Japanese restaurant to the CBD. Give this hidden charm a visit if you ever pass by Bridge Street!

Lunch at the Potting Shed.

I've always been a huge fan of the Potting Sheds and was ecstatic to share this little rustic gem with my friend Brennie. I love how the restaurant is loaded up with so much greenery and is surrounded by terracotta pots and barrels. It just adds so much charm to this quaint eatery.

Glazed Doughnuts Goodness.

The gorgeous girls from Glazed Doughnuts sure know how to brighten up a girls day. I was gifted this beautifully hand crafted box of doughnuts last weekend from the Brewery markets to do a tasting for them. My box of 6 came with the following unique flavours:

- Red velvet with cream cheese frosting glaze
- Strawberry glaze with pop tarts
- Cheery glaze with smashed meringue
- Nutella glaze with banana chips and waffles
- Chocolate ganache with rocky road
- Honey glaze with peanut butter  stuffed pretzels

My favourite from the set of 6 is undoubtedly the chocolate ganache with rock road! I reckon I could eat an entire box of those purely on their own. So proud of these two Cali girls and i'm sure in no time they'll have a shop up and running of their own. Keep it up ladies xxx

Lunch at the Boathouse.

This was the first time I got to shoot with the extremely talented photographer / blogger / instagram genius: @besotted_grace. Meeting up with Grace is something i've been wanting to do ever since I found out we both lived in Sydney and I can promise you that she is the most funny and down-to-earth person I have ever met. Grace decided to show me one of her favourite breakfast spots in Sydney, the Boathouse. I have been itching to make a trip there for a very long time and i'm so glad that we finally went!

Simple Crêpes Recipe

A close up of my homemade crêpes!

Thought i'd share a quick and simple fool proof recipe of my homemade crêpes with you all! Or as my German flatmate calls them.. 'pfannkuchen' which literally translates as pancake. Since arriving in Stuttgart i've become completely domesticated because everything is closed on a Sunday - which means more time to myself. So i've been getting my hands a bit dirty in the kitchen. It takes about 35 minutes to make these bad boys. So give it a try!

    Ingredients:
-1 cup all-purpose flour

-2 tablespoon sugar
-1/4 teaspoon of coarse salt
-1.5 cups of low fat milk
-4 eggs
-2 tablespoon of melted butter

Directions:
Mix the flour, sugar, milk, eggs and butter. Stir until the batter is smooth and has a few bubbles. Refrigerate mixture in a container for 3 hours or leave overnight.  Heat a pan over a medium heat and coat with some butter. Add 1/3 cup batter and swirl around the pan. Cook until the crepe is golden in texture for 2 minutes. Loosen the edge of the crepe and flip the crepe over for another 2 minutes. Slide the crepe out of the pan and repeat with the remainder of the batter. Serve with whipped cream, strawberry jam, fresh fruit, Nutella or whatever fancies your delight! This little treat always manages to brighten up my day.
